<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system capable of restraining increase of internal resistance of a lithium ion secondary battery during a standstill period of the lithium ion secondary battery, and to provide an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: The battery system 6 comprises the lithium ion secondary battery 100, and a temperature control means (microcomputer 30) for controlling temperature of the lithium ion secondary battery 100.
