<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which can suppress a decrease in catalytic purification capability even at temperatures of 950°C or more, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst has a γ-alumina support and a metal catalyst supported by the alumina support, and is characterized in that the alumina support is coated with a silicon oxide (SiO2) on the surface, and rhodium (Rh) or platinum (Pt) as a noble metal is supported through the silicon oxide coating. The catalyst is manufactured through the coating process of coating the surface of the alumina support with the silicon oxide, the paper making process of dispersing on a sheet-like catalyst structure while allowing the alumina support obtained in the coating process to support the metal catalyst through the silicon oxide in the process of obtaining the sheet-like catalyst structure by a paper making method, and the calcination process of calcining the sheet-like catalyst structure obtained by the paper making process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
