PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and composition to deliver a sufficiently large amount of NMDAr antagonist to a subject to treat a symptom or damaged effect of a disease avoiding undesirable adverse reactions. SOLUTION: The composition contains the NMDAr antagonist, and a sustained release matrix coated with a polymer matrix, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose and a polymer coating, or a sustained release structural element such as a sustained release bead matrix.
