PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact electric kettle including a cover body equipped with a pouring channel, its opening/closing mechanism, and steam channel with water stopping function when tumbled and with high bulk ratio which can make the remaining water a small volume. SOLUTION: The cover body 5 is equipped with the pouring channel 6 which a contained fluid 16 is poured out of an outflow opening 15 inside an internal container 2 towards an effusion opening 17 that faces the top end front side of a container body 4, the open/close mechanism 7 for opening and closing the pouring channel 6, and the steam channel 8 with the water stopping function when tumbled that ejects steam towards outside. The internal container 2 is in a cylindrical shape with a straight body part and can be closed by making it abut against a sealing position of a seal member 21 of the cover body 5 from above. The outflow opening 15 is provided in a way that the front section 15a of an opening edge is positioned near when viewed from above against the body section wall front side 2b of the inner container 2 within the range enclosed by the seal member 21 of the cover body 5.
