PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 3'-fluoro-5'-hydroxythalidomide derivative and an optically active substance thereof. SOLUTION: A 3'-fluoro-5'-hydroxythalidomide derivative represented by general formula [A] (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a silyl, alkyl, or cycloalkyl group, etc.; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom, etc.; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, etc., each being same or different; and X is CH<SB>2</SB>or C=O) and an optically active substance thereof are provided. These compounds are promising as new drugs for treating erythema nodosum of Hansen's disease, prurigo, rheumatism, Crohn's disease, graft-versus-host disease, Behcet's disease, aphthous ulcer, multiple myeloma, TNF-αrelated disease, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
