PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element for effectively preventing a fault due to an electrostatic breakdown even when an additional element such as a black mask is not provided. SOLUTION: A common electrode (common wiring) includes an electrode portion disposed at an outermost peripheral part, and electrodes COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, and COM8 disposed inside the outermost peripheral part and having shapes associated with display. The electrode portion disposed at the outer peripheral part includes a first electrode COM0 and a second electrode COM1 disposed inside the first electrode, and the second electrode COM1 includes, nearby a lead-out part of the second electrode COM1, a high-resistance part in a linear routing shape similar to those of the electrodes COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, and COM8 disposed inside the electrode portion disposed at the outermost peripheral part and having shapes associated with display.
