PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a density measuring device capable of accurately measuring the density of an object substance in a prescribed liquid while substantially maintaining the fluid state of the prescribed liquid, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed are the density measuring device for measuring the density of the object substance in the prescribed liquid and the image forming apparatus equipped with the density measuring device, wherein the density measuring device includes: a tube for feeding the prescribed liquid; a density detecting section being a portion of the tube, elastically deformed to a prescribed thickness with application of external pressure; and an optical measuring device for measuring light-transmittance of the prescribed liquid at the density detecting section that was deformed to the prescribed thickness.
