A channel quality of a radio channel between a transmitter and a receiver is detected by the receiver. The channel quality is compensated for an effect of a transmission on the radio channel when the receiver detected the channel quality or an effect of a future transmission on the radio channel. In a preferred example embodiment, the channel quality is compensated for both effects if present. The compensated channel quality is then used to determine one or more parameters for transmission from the transmitter to the receiver over the radio channel, e.g., an amount of data to be transmitted, a transmission power, and/or a transmission time period. |
