<p>The device (10) has an engaging element (40) e.g. bolt and pin, fixed in a locking unit (50) in a force-fit or friction locked manner. The unit is designed such that insertion of the engaging element into the unit is caused in a direction (R), which is opposite to a closing direction (X) of a flat element (20) e.g. door, in a locking position of the unit. The unit is closed in a direction (S), which is opposite to an opening direction (O) of the flat element in the locking position.
