PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of preventing application of a reverse voltage to a load in erroneous wiring. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker includes: a breaker body 1 equipped with a high potential-side power terminal 10H and a low potential-side power terminal 10L, and load terminals 11 respectively corresponding to the high potential-side power terminal 10H and the low potential-side power terminal 10L for housing switching means 3 in a form inserted between the high potential-side power terminal 10H and the low potential-side power terminal 10L and the load terminals 11 respectively corresponding to them; a switching mechanism part 4 equipped with an operation handle 46 attached to the breaker body 1, and switching the respective switching means 3 in response to operation of the operation handle 46; and a tripping device 5 releasing the respective switching means 3 when overcurrent flows between a D.C. power supply and the load; and also provided with a restraint means 7 for restraining the operation handle 46 at an opening position when the polarity of the high potential-side power terminal 10H is reverse to that of the low potential-side power terminal 10L.
