PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coating method of a composite wood flooring which allows a surface of composite flooring having a hardly absorbing decorative material on its surface and a plurality of decorative slits to be coated in a uniform and good appearance, wherein the composite flooring . SOLUTION: The surface coating method comprises the steps of roll-coating the surface of a surface decorated composite wood flooring 1 formed by bonding a hardly absorbing decorative material 11 on a wood substrate 12. In the primer coating process A, the composite flooring is conveyed with aligning the rolling direction of the roller in parallel with the direction of a plurality of decorative grooves 111 formed in the hardly-soluble decorative material 11, and a primer coating 2 is natural coated by a sponge roller Sp, then, the coating film is smoothed by natural coating with a rubber roller and thereafter is dried, and further, an intermediate coating and a top coating are applied.
