PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method capable of continuously printing a resin layer excellent in thickness uniformity and pattern accuracy even though an matter to be printed is a film or others with flexibility. SOLUTION: The printer 10A comprises a cylindrical blanket cylinder 12 in which a blanket 12a is arranged on the surface of the same, a cylindrical plate cylinder 14 in which a convex portion 14a with a predetermined pattern is arranged on the surface of the same, an impression cylinder 16 pressing the matter P to be printed on the blanket 12a, a coating die 18 for applying ink, a cleaning unit 22 cleaning the surface of the blanket 12a, and a washing unit 24 washing the surface of the plate cylinder 14. The coating die 18, the plate cylinder 14, the impression cylinder 16, and the cleaning unit 22 are arranged on the periphery of the blanket cylinder 12 in the order of rotating direction of the blanket cylinder 12 and the blanket cylinder 12 and the washing unit 24 are arranged on the periphery of the plate cylinder 14 in the order of rotational direction of the plate cylinder 14.
