PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improvement method in the rejection ratio of a permeable membrane which improves the rejection ratio to inorganic substances, organic substances especially organic substances with low molecular weight in such a state that the permeation flux of a permeable membrane is highly maintained and which is capable of maintaining the high improvement effect, thereby preparing the membrane that the removement effect of organic substances, especially organic substances with low molecular weight is high and that the stable treatment is possible for a long term, to provide a permeable membrane, to provide a permeable membrane treatment method and to provide a permeable membrane device. SOLUTION: The improvement method in the rejection ratio of the permeable membrane is characterized by improving the rejection ratio in such a state that the permeation flux of the permeable membrane is highly maintained by bringing a solute aqueous solution in which one or more solutes selected from the electrolytes (a) and organic substances (b) having a molecular weight of 100-500 are dissolved and of which the osmotic pressureΔπis 0.1-4.0 Mpa into contact with one side of the permeable membrane and bringing water as a solute into contact with the reverse side of the permeable membrane, adding the operational pressureΔP opposite to the osmotic pressureΔπinto the solute aqueous solution and conducting the pressurization treatment or further conducting the rejection ratio improvement agent treatment.
