PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel furnished with a line stopper for surely engaging a fishing line while ensuring good rotation operability of a brake adjusting knob. SOLUTION: Described in the claim 1 is a fishing reel having a brake force adjusting knob attached to a side plate of a reel body and applying braking force to a spool freely rotatably supported on the reel body provided that an annular groove enabling the fixing of the fishing line is formed on the outer circumference of the brake force adjusting knob and a ring-formed elastic member having a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the brake force adjusting knob is attached in the groove; and described in the claim 2 is a fishing reel described in the claim 1 provided that a turning operation part and the annular groove are formed on the outer circumference of the brake force adjusting knob in a manner separated from each other in axial direction, and the elastic member attached in the annular groove has a diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the turning operation part.
