The invention relates to a self-contained, compact, portable and miniaturized device which, by safely exposing the hair to intense light, is able to destroy the hair follicle by selective photothermolysis. It is simply in the form of a handpiece having the shape of a small hairdryer, comprising a casing 1, at the end of which there is an adjustable and detachable lighting nozzle 2, which is secured on the rotation disc 5, the latter itself being mounted on the support disc 6. When the user applies the device to the area to be depilated and presses the trigger, the nozzle transmits an intense flash of light to the root of the hair. The device according to the invention is designed in particular for depilation of the legs, bikini line and armpits. |
