<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission device of an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately securing a trapping capacity of a filter for trapping particle matters in exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: A control device 25 performs a regeneration process to reduce particle matters in exhaust gas accumulated in a filter 32 to a regeneration termination value. Upon the performance of the regeneration process, the control device 25 calculates an ash accumulated amount of the filter 32. Then, the regeneration termination value is corrected based on the ash accumulated amount so that the amount of the particulate matters that remains in the filter 32 at the time of termination of the regeneration decreases for the greater ash accumulated amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
