<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely calculate the area of the arbitrary region of a map surrounded by tracing the outline with an information processing device such as an electronic pen. <P>SOLUTION: A user surrounds the arbitrary closed region of a map plotted on an Anoto sheet 3 on which a coded pattern is printed by tracing the outline with an electronic pen 1. The electronic pen 1 is configured to search the orbit by acquiring the position coordinates of each of the discrete points on the outline. The electronic pen 1 divides the orbit into sections where the X coordinates of the outline points monotonously and smoothly change, and interpolates the outline points with smooth interpolation functions in each divided section, and calculates the area of the whole closed region surrounded by the orbit by integrating the interpolation functions in each section, and converts the area on the map into an actual area on ground, and notifies the user of the result with voice. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
