PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance convenience in selecting a channel of a scramble broadcast signal. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver 100 uses a removable IC card 41 to descramble a broadcast program scrambled by digital television broadcast for broadcasting a program for each logic channel. In response to the detection by the card detector 28 that the IC card 41 is loaded in the broadcast receiver 100, the logic channel of program broadcast to be extracted by a tuner 16, a digital demodulator 18 and an MPEG decoder 22 is designated as a predetermined logic channel corresponding to a scrambled broadcast program indicated by information stored in a memory 10B.
