PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a security function is incorrectly set in an image forming device having a network connection function, access from a client PC to the image forming device is disabled, and consequently, security setting is disabled. SOLUTION: An image forming device includes a means for enabling setting only for a predetermined period of time when setting a security function, so as to release the security setting after the lapse of the predetermined period of time. By this, even if the security setting is incorrect and access from a client PC is disabled, communication is resumed after the lapse of the predetermined period of time so as to correct the incorrect setting.
