PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal reception device capable of receiving an optical signal from the source of signal dispatch seamlessly, thereby receiving accurate information, and to provide an optical communication system. SOLUTION: The optical communication system 1 is provided with: an optical signal transmission device 2 for transmitting an optical signal on which information is superimposed; and an optical signal reception device 3 for receiving it from the optical signal. The optical signal reception device 3 is provided with: a light reception element array 312 in which a plurality of light reception elements 312a which receive an optical signal from a light emission part 23 of the optical signal transmission device 2 as an optical signal transmission source are arrayed like a matrix; an image pickup element 322 for picking up a visual field image including the optical signal and outputting it as a moving image; an optical source coordinate detection part 33 for outputting coordinate information by detecting the position of the signal transmission source from the moving image; and a multiplexer 313 for selecting one light receiving element 312a from among light reception element array 312 based on the coordinate information.
