PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner which cleans dust of a large particle size by enhancing a suction power while increasing an intake air flow by enlarging an open area of an intake opening in the lower part of a body and decreasing the variation of ventilating directions. SOLUTION: The air cleaner has a filter 6 and a centrifugal air blower 7 in an air flow path 5 provided in a body 1, the filter 6 and the centrifugal air blower 7 cleaning air taken in from an under intake opening 2 disposed at the front face of the under part of the body 1 and from a lateral intake opening 3 disposed at the lateral face of the body 1 wherein the lateral intake opening 3 is formed so that its open area of the under part of the body 1 is relatively larger than that of the upper part of the body 1, and the filter 6 is tilted to the front in the body 1. Thus, collection efficiency can be enhanced by taking in large sized dust such as ticks' feces and corpses, pollen and the like which are distributed in the lower space of a room such as adjacent to a floor face.
