PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user effectively exercise. SOLUTION: An exercise apparatus is provided with a movable section 2 for moving the body of the user and a driving section 3 which moves the movable section and can change the exercise given to the user through the movable section. The apparatus is also provided with: an information obtaining means for obtaining body information which is the biological information and exercise capability information of the user; a performance database in which the body information and the corresponding favorable performance information of the movable means are stored; a performance obtaining means for obtaining the state of performance of the movable section; and a controlling section which outputs the performance parameter information on the favorable performance of the movable section obtained by referring to the performance database based on the performance state obtained by the performance obtaining means and the body information obtained by the information obtaining means.
