SHOPPING CART WITH VARIABLE SEARCH FUNCTION

A shopping cart allows a user to query a cart display for a listing of items in a selected product category in an order determined by the user, for instance listing in order of increasing cost per unit weight the products located on the shop shelves the cart is currently close to, or listing in order of saturated fat content a product category selected by the user. The cart may be tracked by a central shop system which transfers to the display information derived in response to selections by the customer at the cart.
