摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design an arrangement in which facility cost and cost regarding a transmission deterioration amount are optimized while suppressing the transmission deterioration amount within a range where optical reproduction is possible at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: This network design apparatus 100 designs an arrangement of various optical transmission devices to each station in a linear section of a network. An acquisition unit 110 acquires information about types of optical transmission devices which can be arranged in each station, and information about the costs and the transmission deterioration amount when the various optical transmission devices are arranged in each station. A design unit 120 designs arrangement of an optical regenerative repeater among the various optical transmission devices in which the costs are minimized among arrangement in which the transmission deterioration amount between the stations in which adaptable optical transmission devices are arranged becomes a threshold or lower based on the information acquired by the acquisition unit 110.
