PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic operation type switching device enabling properly adjustment of the operating speed of a switch to an optimum value. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic operation type switching device comprises the switch, an electromagnetic operation device, and an operating circuit. The operating circuit 20 has a capacitor 21 for accumulating electric charges to energize a break operation coil 8b, a charging control circuit 22, an a resistance set 24 as a parameter changing means inserted into a circuit which energizes the break operation coil 8b through the capacitor 21. In accordance with a status signal from a status monitoring device 28 which monitors the status of the switch, a change-over means 26 is controlled to control a current to flow into the break operation coil 8b, thus adjusting the operating speed of the switch.
