PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide binoculars which requires few manipulated variable necessary for adjusting a focus and visibility, includes a thin hinge for coupling right and left lens barrels, and has strength enough to maintain stability of the optical axis of the binoculars, and is made light in weight and easy-to-hold. SOLUTION: The binoculars 1 are equipped with: a pair of adjusting means that makes an adjusting lens movable; a central focusing drive 6 that is positioned in the middle of the pair of adjusting means and can rotate centering a center axial line; a rotary cylinder that rotates or gets immovable in accordance with the rotation of the central focusing drive; an inside cylinder that can move together with one adjusting means along the center axial line; an outside cylinder that can move together with the other adjusting means along the center axial line; a draw tube that is equipped with an engaging piece engaged with the outside cylinder and can be engaged with and disengaged from the central focusing drive; and a converting device that converts the moving distance and moving direction of the pair of adjusting means into the moving distance and moving direction of the adjusting lens required to adjust the focus and visibility.
