The injector (1) has a cylindrical valve body (30), which has an opening at its end side and a spray hole definition element (31). Multiple spray hole definition grooves are formed at the valve body and a spray hole definition element. Multiple spray holes (36) form a connection between an inner side and an outer side of the valve body. The multiple spray holes are defined by multiple spray hole definition grooves. A needle (40) is configured such that it is engaged or released from an inner side of the valve body, to close or open the multiple spray holes. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing of an injector.
