<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery in which a high capacity and an improved charge and discharge cycle life are achieved. <P>SOLUTION: In a positive electrode of the lithium secondary battery, this contains a lithium-metal complex oxide containing lithium and manganese as a positive electrode active material of general formula (I) LixOMn<SB>2</SB>-yMyO<SB>4</SB>, and a phase of this material is changed into a crystal structure of a cubic crystal by charging, and the crystal structure material of a cubic crystal inserts and releases lithium (in the formula, 1<x0≤2, and 0.8≥y>0, M is at least one selected from Li, B, Mg, Al, Co, Ni, Fe and Ti). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
