<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recorder which reduces possibility of a failure of recording due to an operation for video recording reservation. <P>SOLUTION: A DVD recorder 1 is provided with: a receiving part 2; an encoding part 3; a recording/reading part 4; a signal processing part 5; an output part 6; an operation part 8; and a control part 9. The control part 9 performs processing 91-92, 95. Fuzzy recording processing 921 is included in the recording processing 92. In the processing 921, even when the recording reservation processing 91 is incompletely finished, when at least video recording scheduled time, a channel of a broadcast program scheduled to be video recorded are set by a user, the channel is selected at the recording scheduled time to start video recording by the video recording processing 92.
