<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized brushless motor that is cost-effective and excellent in the easiness of assembling and mounting, and an electric power steering device using it. <P>SOLUTION: In the brushless motor 13 containing a rotor 75 of a rotating shaft 76 and a stator 66 provided around the rotor 75 in a motor casing 50, one side of the motor casing 50 is an output side that outputs the torque of the rotor 75. The rotating shaft 76 is made to penetrate a wall 54 opposite to the output side of the motor casing 50. The rotating shaft 76 protrudes up to the outside of the wall 54 of the motor casing 50. At the protruding portion of the rotating shaft 76, a sensor 83 which has a resolver rotor 80 fixed to the rotating shaft 76 and a resolver stator 81 provided around the resolver rotor 80 and detects the magnetic pole position of the rotor 75 is provided.
