PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively prevent waste of paper without modifying a printer incorporated in the register or the like of a POS system. SOLUTION: Based on the height of the final line of print data relating to a cut command after the determination of the cut command, the control section 15 of the printer 10 measures an amount of paper feed. While controlling a printing head 16 and a paper conveying section 18, the control section 15 prints the print data and also feeds the paper until the final end of the print reaches the position of a cutter blade. Also, subsequent to the final end of printing, the control section 15 prints print data relating to the following paper during the paper feed, and cuts the paper while controlling a cutting mechanism section 17.
