PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diene-based rubber composition using natural rubber as a main component of a diene-based rubber, from which a tread part of a pneumatic tire having excellent brake performance on a wet pavement, rolling resistance and wear resistance can be formed by vulcanizing and molding the composition. SOLUTION: The diene-based rubber composition is obtained by blending 30 to 65 parts by weight of carbon black having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N<SB>2</SB>SA) of 70 to 100 m<SP>2</SP>/g, 2 to 30 parts by weight of an aromatic-modified terpene resin, and 5 to 50 parts by weight of pulverized bituminous coal with respect to 100 parts by weight of a diene-based rubber, with the total blended amount of the carbon black and the pulverized bituminous coal ranging from 37 to 100 parts by weight. The diene-based rubber composition may contain not more than 50 parts by weight of silica having a CTAB (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) adsorption specific surface area of 95 to 175 m<SP>2</SP>/g.
