The device has a deviation plate (3), which is fixed at a protective pipe (1) and extends over a section of the protective pipe. The section of the protective pipe is present in a gas flow, where the protection device is fixed at a wall of a flue gas channel in different angular positions by a mounting device (4). The deviation plate has a fixing unit, with which the protection device is rotatably and detachably fixed at the protective pipe in desired angular positions. The protective pipe and deviation plate are made of a wear resistant material such as steel and ceramic.
