摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium manganate having high output and excellent high-temperature stability. <P>SOLUTION: Lithium manganate particle powder has a primary particle diameter of 1-8 &mu;m and substantially forms single-phase particles. The lithium manganate particle powder is characterized by having a composition satisfying the following chemical formula: Li<SB>1+x</SB>Mn<SB>2-x-y</SB>Y1<SB>y</SB>O<SB>4</SB>+Y2 (wherein Y1=Ni, Co, Mg, Fe, Al, Cr, and Ti; 0.03&le;x&le;0.15; 0.05&le;y&le;0.20; and Y2= phosphorus in a phosphorous compound whose melting point is &le;800&deg;C).
