<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction losses by disengaged engagement elements by engaging three engagement elements in each speed change stage in an automatic transmission for performing the speed change for eight forward stages by using four planetary gears and five engagement elements. <P>SOLUTION: Three elements of a third planetary gear 7 are defined as first, second and third elements in the order in a velocity diagram, three elements of a fourth planetary gear 8 are defined as fourth, fifth and sixth elements in the order in the velocity diagram, and the third element Cm is connected to the sixth element Sr. There are provided a first engagement element C1 for connecting an input member 2 to the third element Cm, a second engagement element Ca for connecting the second element Rm to the fourth element Cr, a third engagement element Cb for connecting the first element Sm to the fourth element Cr, a fourth engagement element B1 for transmitting the acceleration output to the first element Sm by operating the first planetary gear 4, and a fifth engagement element B2 for transmitting the deceleration output to the second element Rm by operating the second planetary gear 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
