PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact continuously variable transmission improved in on-vehicle mounting performance by shortening the length thereof in the axial direction. SOLUTION: In this continuously variable transmission comprising two wrapping-type continuously variable transmitting mechanisms 20 and 30 arranged in parallel with each other, back to back, an output component output from the first wrapping-type continuously variable transmitting mechanism 20 is input to a planetary carrier 43 of a planetary gear mechanism 40, and an output component output from the second wrapping-type transmitting mechanism 30 is input to a ring gear 41 of the planetary gear mechanism, and an output component transmitted from the planetary gear mechanism 40 to an output shaft 12 is transmitted from a sun gear 44.
