PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interior fabric for the ceiling of an automobile, having light weight and high air permeability, free from oppressive feeling, keeping excellent soft-touch feeling and cushioning property even after bonding, free from generation of stretch crease in the bonding operation to enable neat bonding, and having a base design on the surface to give excellent design effect. SOLUTION: The interior fabric for the ceiling of an automobile having a fabric weight of 200-450 g/m<SP>2</SP>, a total thickness of 2-4 mm and an air permeability of 10-120 cc/cm<SP>2</SP>×sec is knitted as a double warp knitted fabric obtained by connecting a front warp knitted fabric and a back warp knitted fabric with a linking yarn. The back warp knitted fabric has a non-mesh knitted texture. The back warp knitted fabric constituting the back face is knitted with several kinds of knitting yarns passed through two or more reeds. The knitting yarn passed through at least one reed among the multiple reeds is composed of crimped fibers and the knitting yarn passed through at least one reed is composed of uncrimped fibers. The double warp knitted fabric has longitudinal and lateral elongations of 10-100% each and elongation recovery rates after longitudinal and lateral elongation of≤15% each.
