PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of stabilizing the vitamin A family of lipid-soluble vitamins which are very sensitive to air, light, heat, acids, metallic ions and the like, particularly very unstable in an aqueous solution, and a stabilized vitamin A family-containing ophthalmic composition. SOLUTION: The ophthalmic composition is prepared by incorporating 0.4-5.0 W/V% polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol into a vitamin A family-containing ophthalmic composition to remarkably increase the stability of the vitamin A family and further incorporating an antioxidant thereinto to more increase the stability.
