The robot for cleaning the bottom of a basin filled with liquid comprises a base (2) and a head (T) capable of rotational movement with respect to the base (2). The head (T) comprises a lower part constituting a waste storage receptacle equipped with an opening and a filter (7) for drawing into the storage receptacle waste or foreign bodies present in the liquid and an upper part constituting a drive and steering unit. The drive and steering unit comprises a device (18) for creating a static torque on the rotationally mobile head (T), a device (17) for creating a dynamic torque to balance the static torque when the robot is in motion through the liquid and to allow damped rotation of the head (T) relative to the base (2) when this base is immobilized by an obstacle, and a jet propulsion device (18) to move the robot around. The base (2) is equipped with anisotropic guide means and comprises, on the one hand, a fixed orientation rolling element (5) and, on the other hand, at least two orientable rolling elements (3, 4). |
