<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve gradation expression characteristics when driving pixels by turning on or off the pixels in sub-fields into which one field is divided. <P>SOLUTION: A display panel 100 is irradiated with a light source 41 by AC driving of a light source driving circuit 40. The display panel 100 has a plurality pixels, and transmittance of of irradiation with the light source 42 is changed for every pixel. A timing control circuit 30 controls the display panel 100 so that respective sub-fields into which one field is divided on the time base are turned on or off in accordance with a gradation level, and the timing control circuit 30 arranges sub-fields so that two or more sub-fields for regulating gradation other than sub-fields for adjustment out of the plurality of sub-fields, keep a prescribed relation with respect to AC driving of the light source driving circuit 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
