PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position sensor capable of preventing a foreign matter such as mud or dust from entering between a part to be detected and a bearing. SOLUTION: This sensor is equipped with a detection part 2 having a detection coil; a part 3 to be detected movable in a prescribed direction with respect to the detection coil; a circuit block 21 for performing processing for detecting displacement of the part 3 to be detected with respect to the detection part 2; a casing 1 for storing the detection part 2, the part 3 to be detected, and the circuit block 21; and the bearing 31 provided between the casing 1 and the part 3 to be detected, for supporting the part 3 to be detected slidably in the moving direction. The casing 1 is provided with an overcoat part 6 for covering the outer peripheral surface of the part 3 to be detected, which is not covered by the casing 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
