PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin which has excellent crystallinity irrespective of its low melting point, which is produced with excellent operability, and which is suitably used for, starting from a binder fiber, various uses of adhesives. SOLUTION: The polyester resin is a polyester made of: a dicarboxylic acid component containing terephthalic acid of 70 mol% or more and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid of 5-30 mol%; and a diol component containing 1,6-hexanediol of 80 mol% or more, wherein the melting point of the polyester is 100-150°C, the polyester contains a crystalline nucleus agent of 0.01-5.0 mass%, and its DSC curve showing crystallization with temperature lowering determined by DSC satisfies inequality (1): b/a≥0.05(mW/mg×°C).
