PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize an airbag device for a front passenger seat which makes it possible to easily select an inflator suitable for its airbag, to shorten its development period, and reduces its development cost. SOLUTION: Internal pressure P of the airbag 2 in the air bag device 1 for the front passenger seat is set according to a relational formula between the support moment Mb and the inertia moment Ma, wherein the support moment Mb is applied to the airbag 2 generated by reaction force R upwardly applied to a support portion 2a of the air bag 2 caused by the internal pressure P of the airbag 2, and the inertia moment Ma is applied to the airbag 2 generated by forward inertia force G*m to move the barycenter position a of the airbag 2 upward by collision.
