Provided herein are methods of improving, maintaining and restoring renal function, treating heart failure, treating subjects with acute fluid overload, and slowing or reversing an existing or developing renal impairment in subjects with BNP levels of at least 400 pg/mL and/or NT-proBNP levels of at least about 1500 pg/mL by administering a therapeutically effective amount of an AA1RA to the subject.
