<p>The method involves determining a vehicle vibration limit based upon a vehicle speed (KPH) or a coolant temperature of an internal combustion engine (12). A vehicle vibration level is determined based on a number of active cylinders of the engine, a desired torque of the engine and a measured vibration level of a vehicle component e.g. seat track. An active cylinder count is modified based on the vehicle vibration limit and the vehicle vibration level. The vibration limit is increased by a correction factor based on a signal from a user actuated economy switch (38). An independent claim is also included for a control module comprising a vibration limit module.</p> |
