Provided are a cap (1) which can improve the sealing property of a container and which is suitable for use in the case where the internal pressure of the container is high such as the case where the content of the container is carbonated beverage, and a container (2) with the cap. The cap comprises a cap body (4) which has a top wall (6) and a skirt wall (7) drooping from the outer periphery of the top wall (6) and in which a female screw (9) which is fit to a male screw (10) of an opening (3) of the container is formed in the skirt wall (7), and a composite resin packing (5) for sealing the opening (3) of the container. The packing (5) comprises a top plate (17) which comes into contact with the leading end portion of the opening (3) of the container and with which the end portion is covered, and a circular inner foot (18) which droops from the top plate (17) and which is adhered to the inner periphery surface of the opening (3) of the container. Further, a circular bending portion (19) which bends downward relative to the top plate (17) and with the inner periphery surface of which the outer periphery surface of the opening (3) of the container is covered is provided in continuous with the outer periphery edge of the top plate (17). Further, the cap body (4) comprises an urging portion (21) for urging the outer periphery surface of the bending portion (19) of the packing (5) in a closed state and the bending portion (19) urged is elastically transformed to be pushed to the outer periphery surface of the opening (3) of the container.
