<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve comfortable display when playing back and displaying images in which various aspect ratios are present. <P>SOLUTION: In order to output image data of 16:9 on a high-definition panel device, an image signal is generated by performing necessary image conversion processing (e.g., wide-zoom image conversion accompanied with segmentation processing) in accordance with the relation of an aspect ratio with that of source image data. At such a time, on a display unit provided in a main body, image data are generated so as to include all image contents of the source image data at all times, and output for displaying. A user can confirm the entire image contents of the source image data at all times at the display unit side of the main body while enjoying the display on the high-definition panel device. Furthermore, an image portion that is not displayed at an external device side, is presented by half-tone display HT or the like at the display unit side of the main body, so that the state of image display on the external device becomes easy to recognize for the user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
