<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolyte battery for solving the problem of an inferior charging/discharging property because of lower bonding strength between each electrode and a solid electrolyte resulting in greater internal resistance of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: This lithium battery comprises a pair of positive and negative electrodes 2 each formed mainly of an active material, and the solid electrolyte 3 arranged therebetween. At least one of the electrodes contains one or more type of either SnO<SB>2</SB>or In<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. The electrodes each contain the active material and a silicon compound having at least Si-O bonds.
