<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction in luminance and the appearance of flicker in a still image to drive an EL element by controlling a threshold voltage of a transistor for driving the EL element even in a state that the EL element continues to emit light for a fixed period. <P>SOLUTION: An n-channel transistor and a p-channel transistor are disposed as driving transistors for driving the light emitting element, the polarity of an image signal supplied from a data line is reversed in each optional period and the polarity-reversed image signal is supplied to a gate of a driving transistor of each pixel, whereby the threshold voltage of the transistor is controlled and a change in the luminance of the light emitting element due to the threshold voltage shift of the driving transistor is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
