<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module connected with a plurality of PLC chips, one of which is fixed directly to a mount, and the other is held by the mount by elastic adhesives, and which restrains a force applied a PLC chip connection part by a volume change of the elastic adhesives, and improves coupling loss stability. <P>SOLUTION: The PLC chip 2 is fixed directly to a protrusion of the mount 1, an input optical waveguide array 5a is optically connected to an optical fiber array 4a, and an output optical waveguide array 5b is optically connected to an input optical waveguide array 7a of the PLC chip 3. The PLC chip 3 is held by the elastic adhesives 9a, 9b piled up in the connection part to the PLC chip 2 and holding protrusions 10 arranged opposite both sides of the PLC chip 3. Distances from the holding protrusions 10 to a side face of the PLC chip 3 are made equal, and the elastic adhesives 9a, 9b have the same length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
